Timeline of algae industry

The algae industry found its origins in providing higher value products such as nutritional supplements in the 1960's. Algae are now being looked at for other potential products (biofuel, jet fuel, nutraceuticals, and protein) and services (carbon dioxide consumption, and wastewater remediation).

The purpose of this graph is to show important milestones that have been made in the industry.
